About Ubi Sunt

Ubi Sunt (/’ou-bie sou-nt/) is a latin word meaning, “the transitory nature of life.” Pregnancy and childbirth is one of the most beautiful moments of transition in our lives. Ubi Sunt Doula Care focuses on your healthy transition to parenthood.

I am Deanna Pope-Toth, the woman behind Ubi Sunt Doula Care, and I have a goal to help moms and parents-to-be feel empowered during their pregnancy and childbirth experience. I want parents to remember their baby’s birthday as magical and uplifting.
That’s why as your doula, I will guide you through your birthing preferences, we will review your own personal goals, fears and dreams. We will talk about some trends in home or hospital birthing, or special requests you can make for your healthcare provider. We will work together to walk through fears of labour, fears of parenting and prepare realistic expectations of your childbirth process. You are the driver and I am your coach.

As a DONA trained doula, I adhere to DONA International’s ethical mandate. It’s my belief that parents love their own children best and I help parents-to-be build confidence in their own inherent abilities.

Why do I love my job you ask? I feel tremendous value in supporting parents while they start their journey from the weeks or months before baby is set to arrive, and for the weeks or months after baby is already here. It takes a village to raise a child,  but you can do so much with continuous care from just one doula throughout childbirth and the postpartum period.

Ubi Sunt provides the following:

  • A complimentary consultation/ interview
  • Continuous emotional, physical support
  • Information and advocacy
  • Partner support
  • Prenatal visit
  • Labour attendance
  • 1-2 hours of post-birth attendance
  • Postpartum visit (1 week after birth) to provide practical help with baby/mom (with what?  It’s up to you!) Will also provide beneficial resources for mom.

Contact Ubi Sunt today to start discovering I can start helping you with your healthy transition to parenthood!
