  • Doulas play an important role in improving the overall birth experience
  • Doulas reduce the likelihood of medical interventions and are often considered a form of pain relief by their presence
  • Pregnant moms benefit tremendously from having “continuous support” before, during and after the pregnancy (some health care professionals come and go throughout the labour process – shift changes, etc.)
  • Babies born from moms who had continuous labour support have higher APGAR scores
